SCA Equivalent | Introduction to Coffee

Learn about coffee’s journey from its origins in Ethiopia to the major commodity it is today. From growing the cherries through grading, roasting, and brewing, this module provides an overview of the coffee value chain.

We will take you on a journey from bean to cup - through how coffee is cultivated, harvested and processed as well as help you to identify different roasting profiles as well as best practices in buying, storing and grinding coffee. You will also learn the basics to the fine art of brewing and how to evaluate a great cup of coffee and other brewing methods that will bring out the most flavor and aroma from your beans.
